Revisiting my youth, I decided that my wife and I should take a camping trip on the Bike. It's been a simply fantastic summer so I especially chose a wet and windswept weekend to be sure I had the full experience! Being honest with you, I felt like a kid again! It was bloody fantastic:-)
The weekend taught me several extremely important lessons. Lessons that I'd like to share with you :-)
Lesson 1. You can have a fantastic time regardless of the weather when surrounded by like minded people.
Lesson 2. It's been 15 years since we last bike camped, I need a tall tent to be comfortable.
Lesson 3. Life's too short to cook when camping (on the bike at least). Boiling a cuppa is as adventurous as I want to get when bike camping.
Lesson 4. When choosing a tent, always go for at least 2 man sizes bigger than you need!
Lesson 5. The right gear is ESSENTIAL if you are to make the most of the space and weight constraints and if your spending good money, it needs to be good enough for all occasions, car camping etc, etc...
